Lake Mead is 5 minutes from my HOUSE. YES! I live on one of the coolest, epic, and gorgeous lakes in the greater Las Vegas area and I get to hike this place every single weekend! I have all of the best hikes for the best views for your elopement including slot canyons, cathedral rock spires, dry lakes, natural arches and more. With Lake Mead being around 30 minutes from downtown Las Vegas, we can get you married in a chapel and head to the lake for sunset portraits and then back to Las Vegas for night time lights! As a local and expert, I cannot wait to help you plan your dream day so you can have the best of both worlds when it comes to your portraits!
HOW TO ELOPE IN LAKE MEAD, NEVADA
LAKE MEAD, NEVADA PHOTOGRAPHER | CANDANCE MARIE PHOTOGRAPHY
1.) PLAN FOR WINTER MONTHS - Between late may and mid-October it is HOT here so I do not suggest eloping in 115 degree weather. The best times to elope on Lake Mead would be between late October and April timeframe when the weather is nice and around 55-70 degrees.
2.) TRANSPORTATION? - With Lake Mead being within 28 minutes from downtown Las Vegas you can easily rent a car for the day or Uber for around $35 dollars give or take each way. There is no bus or shuttles that come this way.
3.) ARE THE HIKES LONG? - Lake Mead offers long and short hikes! Some of the locations I have are a 5-10 minute walk from the car and others are a couple of hours round trip. Whatever you are looking for and whatever your skill level is, I can help you there!
4.) BEST TIME OF THE DAY TO ELOPE? - Sunrise is my favorite time out here. The light is soft and buttery (as I like to describe it) and if you want more dramatic light, you want sunset. In the middle of the day the light is way too bright to get anything that you see in my portfolio.
5.) WORK WITH AN EXPERT - Like someone who is LOCAL here :)! Hyia, that's me! You will want someone who knows this landscape, the ins and outs, the weather, the locations, and more. This will make your day so much less stressful :)!

Shorter elopements with locations within walking distance of the car start at $600 but If you want to add on more time to go down into the slot canyons or the cathedral rocks, we can do that too! I love to help couples plan gorgeous photos right in my back yard from the best places to eat, drink, stay, hike and enjoy some of the most jaw dropping colorful sunsets they have ever seen!

Candance was incredible! My husband and I booked an 8-hour package with her husband as the second shooter. She flew all the way down to Texas to shoot our wedding, and her pricing was extremely reasonable. We just got the photos back, and they are top-tier! Some of the photos she took could be in a bridal magazine, they were so beautiful.
We booked a Zoom meeting with her before we signed the contract to get to know her a bit and ask a few questions. We were a little jumpy because our previous photographer who we had signed with had canceled, so we had several questions for Candance. A specific moment that sticks in my memory: a rain and hailstorm hit our area right after the ceremony while we were still taking pictures in the chapel, so I had to run barefoot to the reception hall, and Candance got down on her knees and wiped my feet dry with a napkin.
