The best part about this location as well, there are no permits required! You can literally just drive right out there and set up the most whimsical elopement of your dreams and do your portraits all in one magical place. This beautiful clean slate of paradise right in Utah allows you to bring your dream elopement to life and I am here to help you with the details of your day!
HOW TO ELOPE ON THE UTAH SALT FLATS

1.) HOW TO GET HERE - You want to head west from Salt Lake City towards Reno, Nevada. With it being about 1.5 hours to the nearest rest stop, make sure you have a spare tire, water and food on hand. The Westbound rest stop is where there will be access to drive onto the Salt Flats and it is the more popular rest stop area. This does make for a great meeting place before everyone makes their way onto the flats to find your perfect spot.
2.) BEST TIME OF THE YEAR TO ELOPE? - It really depends on what your vision is! Do you want watery reflection photos or the beautiful dry salt? Do you like cold and standing in water or do you prefer warm and salty? These are the questions you have to ask yourself and I can help you figure this out too!
3.) DO WE NEED A PERMIT? - As of right now, no you do not need a permit!
4.) BEST TIME OF THE DAY TO ELOPE? - Due to how bright the salt flats are when the sun is at its highest of the day, I am a full on fan of sunrise and sunset! Sunrise means more privacy ;)!
5.) WORK WITH AN EXPERT - Like someone who is here frequently here :)! Hyia, that's me! You will want someone who knows this landscape, the ins and outs, the weather, the locations, and more. This will make your day so much less stressful :)!

Magical in every way, the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah really will exceed what you thought your elopement could look like. You can get very creative out here while also taking those classic and timeless portraits. Salt may get onto your clothes, and lets face it, everywhere, but if you love being outdoors and having an elopement others could only dream of, you have found the perfect place to say your vows. Being only 1.5 hours from Salt Lake City, Utah means this is such an easy place to get to! The Salt Flats do have two seasons, a wet season during the fall which can create stunning refection photos if you are okay with getting wet and then a dry season, which most of my couples choose to go for.

Candance was incredible! My husband and I booked an 8-hour package with her husband as the second shooter. She flew all the way down to Texas to shoot our wedding, and her pricing was extremely reasonable. We just got the photos back, and they are top-tier! Some of the photos she took could be in a bridal magazine, they were so beautiful.
We booked a Zoom meeting with her before we signed the contract to get to know her a bit and ask a few questions. We were a little jumpy because our previous photographer who we had signed with had canceled, so we had several questions for Candance. On the wedding day, she and her husband were amazing. They took all of the classic, expected photos and had creative ideas for other photo opportunities, and they were so kind and fun to work with, assuaging all of our wedding-day jitters with ease. A specific moment that sticks in my memory: a rain and hailstorm hit our area right after the ceremony while we were still taking pictures in the chapel, so I had to run barefoot to the reception hall, and Candance got down on her knees and wiped my feet dry with a napkin. Never in my life have I felt so cared for by someone I barely knew, and I'll always remember that moment.
